The Eden Mechanism

The table Ra Uru Hu used to map the global cycles, redrawn with a moving wheel. The gates and locks stay still. The sky's markers drift slowly backwards through them, and that drift sets the background frequency of each era.

Reading it

What moves and what stays

Ra's table uses three words: lock, key and epoch. Here is how they fit together.

The wheel stays still
Sixty-four gates in a fixed ring, set against the stars.
Eight locks divide it
The eight gates of the G Centre sit exactly eight gates apart, so they cut the wheel into eight equal slices. These are the Locks: 25, 46, 10 and 15 from the Cross of the Vessel of Love, and 1, 2, 7 and 13 from the Cross of the Sphinx.
The sky's markers move
The spring equinox point slides backwards through the wheel, about one gate every 412 years in Ra's table. The autumn equinox, the two solstices and the four points between them travel with it, always the same distance apart.
A key is the gate under a marker
The gates under the two equinoxes and two solstices make an incarnation cross, and that cross is the global cycle. The four between-points make a second cross that runs alongside it.
A lock leads for an epoch
The equinox needs eight cycles, roughly 3,300 years, to cross one slice. Ra calls that span an epoch. While it lasts, the lock whose slice holds the equinox leads. Then the marker passes into the next slice and a different G Centre gate takes over.

Is the 25 the lock for 2027?

Yes, but it isn't new. The spring equinox has been moving through the 25's slice since 33 BC. Every cycle of this epoch has had the 25 as its lead lock: the Vessel of Love itself from 33 BC, then the Cross of Eden from 379, Rulership, Consciousness, Planning from 1615, and from 2027 the Sleeping Phoenix. Two more follow before the 13 takes over in 3263.

What changes in 2027 is the key the 25 holds. The 37 gives way to the 55. The 55 comes in at its 6th line, because the motion runs backwards through the lines as well as the gates.

It's often said that the locks stay fixed while the keys move. The locks are fixed. The keys don't really move either. Each one is simply whichever gate the marker sits on at the time.

Two wheels

Why does every birth chart put the spring equinox in the 25? A chart uses a wheel tied to the seasons, so the equinox is always in the same place there. The global cycles use the wheel against the stars.

The two wheels lined up early in this epoch, when the star wheel's 25 sat on the equinox. They have drifted about four gates apart since. So the chart wheel still shows the 25, and the star wheel shows the 37, moving into the 55.

The eight keys that change

All eight locks receive a new key at once. The lock names are Ra's. The keynotes are the standard gate keynotes, taken from our reference compiled from Ra Uru Hu's teachings. For more on what the shift means, read the 2027 series.

The keys and cross names follow Ra's table exactly. The dates are evenly spaced at 412 years. Ra's printed ranges are sometimes off by a year or two, and those small differences have been smoothed out.

Ra Uru Hu, Rave History: The Dictate of the Dark Eden, Jovian Archive. The table appears in the first lesson as “The Eden Mechanism”. The lock names come from the same course: the Way, the Temple, the Nature, the Pattern, the Plan, the Example, the Witness and the Leader.

Ra places a historical Eden around 14,900 BC. In the table, that is the cycle when the 61 sat in the 13 lock. The same pairing comes back once in every epoch, most recently in 1615. Ra calls the time since the early 1960s, when the 61 reached its first line, the Eden Return.

Our reading

The season names for the eight markers, the idea of a lead lock, and the note on the two wheels are our own reading. They follow from the table's arithmetic, but Ra doesn't spell them out.

Ra speaks of cycles of about 411 years, and his table spaces them 412 years apart. Precession works out nearer 403 years per gate, so dates far from the present belong to the scheme, not to an astronomical calculation.
